Singapore blogs hacked
The Electric New Paper (via BH) reports that Singapore bloggers (covered earlier) are fighting back against hackers.
Last week, well-known blogger Wendy Cheng, or Xiaxue, filed a police report after her website was hacked and her data erased.
This week, The New Paper learnt that the blog of another Internet personality, known to the public as Nikki, the anti-Aids campaign poster girl, had also been hacked.
Although Nikki did not make any police report, she said on her website that she would stop blogging for now to prevent further hacking.
Apart from Ms Cheng, police said five others had made police reports since January after cyber-vandals broke into their websites and hijacked their e-mails.
The hacking is usually evidenced by false posts, post deletion, and e-mail hijacking.
The hackers may have lifted passwords during Singapore’s Bloggers.SG convention. Defcon attendees, take note. Use tough passwords and encryption, and change your password after sitting in a tent full of infosniffers for three days.
