Blame the Bay Area
Mike Rundle on Web 2.0 (from an entry on how to fix the stillborn Kinja):
From my experience, many people/companies from the Bay Area appear insulated from the outside, non-technical world, thus many of these “web 2.0″ companies are starting up and flaunting their technology ahead of what they actually do or how they are solving an actual need.
Right–Web 2.0 Kool-aid drinking is totally a Bay Area thing.
I’ve got a crazy thought here: maybe, just maybe, EVERYWHERE in this country, a significant percentage of tech companies are trying to get some Web 2.0 mojo, and are “starting up and flaunting their technology ahead of what they actually do”. And there just happen to be more technology companies in the Bay Area?
By the way, Mike Rundle is a twentysomething designer/programmer from Utica, NY, who worked in Virginia and Illinois, and currently resides in Rochester. If you enjoyed Mike’s post, look forward to my next opus, where I draw the conclusion that “all porn stars love anal” based off “my experience in the porn industry” (which consists of watching several Belladonna porn tapes that made the rounds at my fraternity).

Man I don’t think I’ve ever heard of half those other “web 2.0″ companies you linked up. I guess the east coast needs to do a better job pimping its own geek heroes
Thanks for serving me Kyle, I dish it out enough so that I know what goes around comes around. S’all gravy.
