Boing Boing Zen: Fashion Zen
Editor’s Note: About once every week, Boing Boing delivers a new edition of Web Zen — a topic-focused linkdump (example).
Since some of us don’t actually make it much further than BB and their linkage on our daily web explorations, we figured we’d start providing our own, Boing Boing-centric version of Web Zen. You know, for those 6 of you out there who haven’t been keeping up with the world’s most popular blogpack.
This week, we kick things off with a little Boing Boing Fashion Zen:
Chuck Norris partnered with Spreadshirt to get a piece of the Norris Facts phenomenon, selling t-shirts like the one above.
Less about Chuck and more into the 2nd most-famous Texas Ranger (or making fun of him)? Then you’ll probably take a shine to these Human-Animal Hybrid shirts, inspired by the President’s recent State of the Union address. Now available in Original (Monkey Man), as well as Man-Pig, Beast Family, Bull-Sapien, and ManRoosterBeast.
Create your own tartan online, have it woven into a garment, and delivered to your door. Scots and schoolgirls everywhere: w00t!
Working down to the feets–BB introduced us to Ecosneaks, a green-minded alternative to mass-produced sneakers. Of course, in the process they incited a minor skirmish over what truly constitues “ethical” footwear. Can we just agree on this?–Ecosneaks, BlackSpot Shoes and No Sweat footwear are safe bets to be more “ethical” than anything bearing a swoosh.
Boing Boingers of the world, when you see someone sporting any of these fine items, be sure to shoot them a Zen look (please submit your suggestions as to what a ‘zen look’ may be in the comments).
